Mandala Love

This beaded mandala is being turned into a small quilt.  I love everything about this mandala.  I still need to quilt all the layers together but since this isn't a big piece it shouldn't take too long.

    I like how the strings of beads are entwined. The frame is calm and nice, letting the mandala take centre stage.

    Is that silk ribbon embroider you used for the flowers along the outside points? I love how it contrasts and softens the beadwork, much the way stencil work does. A lovely piece.

    Yes, Gwyned, it is silk ribbon embroidery. I also like the contrast of textures.

Slow Stitching Sunday

  I am on a scroll roll.  This is the second one I started this week.  I love the soft romantic feel of these pieces.  I love working with bright and cheerful colours but occasionally I have to play with a different set of colours.   These scrolls are coming together faster than I thought they would.  That also feels good.   Sometimes I need a project that can be completed quickly.
