Work in Progress Wednesday

I already have a very good start on my bead journal for May.  I hand dyed the doily and love the way it turned out.  This mandala series is giving me a lot of pleasure.  There seems to be no limit on them.  This morning I saw a quilt that was made with a doily-like tablecloth.  So much larger than I have been working.  That was inspiring and I will consider doing a larger piece in this way.

    A fantastic piece of beauty!
    Yes, lace and netting can make very interesting quilts. I saw one in Tokyo where the lace had a floral motif and the pieced and quilted areas were attached to the lacy base. Behind it there was electric light and when the light shone through the lace, the whole quilt glowed.

Slow Stitching Sunday

  I am on a scroll roll.  This is the second one I started this week.  I love the soft romantic feel of these pieces.  I love working with bright and cheerful colours but occasionally I have to play with a different set of colours.   These scrolls are coming together faster than I thought they would.  That also feels good.   Sometimes I need a project that can be completed quickly.
