Snowflake Journal

Sometimes my art journals are just receptacles for art experiments.  I used clear contact paper to create the left page in the top photo.  I sandwiched small and large sequins and some sparkly thread between two sheets of contact paper.  I probably could have included some glitter and tinsel.  That would have looked good.  I will file that idea away for the future.  The right-hand page has a stitched snowflake, watercolour background, stickers and a layered snowflake painted with pearlescent paint.

The left page in the lower photo has a snowflake print that I created for a swap.  I added some stitching to it with sparkly thread.  Love sparkly thread!  The left side is a collection of interesting paper with stickers added.

  2. I've never done a journal paper but as you put it as a good place to do your experimental art... there are times I want to do some of the many tecniques out there but not in my comfort zone so that would be a great idea to start a journal. Thanks for sharing your journal pages with Colorful Options and don't forget to share them with Double Trouble, partner with Colorful Options for this challenge.

  6. Really lovely pages in your journal. I especially love how you treated the two pieces of contact paper, It added to the beauty of the page. And it just goes to show what all young children know: no two snowflakes are ever the same. Thank you for these lovely journal pages that go perfectly with Jo's theme at Art Journal Journey.
