Slow Stitching Sunday

I think this whole cloth crazy quilt is finished.  There is a lot going on and it is time to stop.  This is my first attempt at a whole cloth crazy quilt.  Oh, actually that's not true.  I had started another one but I was using silk as the base and it was too flimsy.  I didn't get far on that one before realizing my mistake though.  This one is done on wool.  Definitely more sturdy but don't look too closely as the dog hair really sticks to it.

I told myself no beads on this one.  I stuck to it but I was definitely tempted.  Sparkly threads were as glitzy as I got.  The butterfly has French knots done with a glitter thread that mimics beads.  I think I have all the seasons represented.  Nature is always inspiring.

I learned much doing this and really enjoyed it.  I think I would like to try another one, bigger this time.  I have no specific inspiration at the moment.  I will wait until the right idea comes along.  I know it will eventually.

Oh, how lovely! I've made a few crazy quilts but never a whole cloth one. Your lovely stitching on black makes the whole thing look vintage.

Your quilt is so pretty. I love the squirrel and the the border stitching behind it. Several of your borders are just fantastic. I am looking forward to seeing what your next inspiration is.
That's so pretty, Angela! I love the daffodil and the animals on it. Looks like this was really fun to stitch!
The brightly coloured threads really pop on the black background! Nice finish!
