do you like hayrides? tell us about one you experienced

It was close to Christmas and there was a lot of snow.  There was a large group of us and we all sang Christmas carols and frolicked in the snow along the way.  The horses weren't going fast so we were able to get back on the wagon after being pushed off.  It was a lot of fun.  I was a teenager and it is a fond memory for me.

Years later I organized a ride for our family at Christmas.  The kids were still rather small but they were excited.  The morning of the ride we awoke to the bitterest of cold.  It would have been positively miserable so we cancelled.  Maybe we could do it with the grandkids someday.

I like that this weekend is Thanksgiving here in Canada.  We have so much.  I am truly grateful for this beautiful life I am living.  I am thankful for a warm and peaceful home.  I enjoy the comfy clothes I have to wear.  I love my beautiful family and friends.  I am truly blessed.

Happy Thanksgiving! Your hay ride as a teenager definitely sounds like fun. I do hope you get to do it with the grandkids one day!

Slow Stitching Sunday

  I am on a scroll roll.  This is the second one I started this week.  I love the soft romantic feel of these pieces.  I love working with bright and cheerful colours but occasionally I have to play with a different set of colours.   These scrolls are coming together faster than I thought they would.  That also feels good.   Sometimes I need a project that can be completed quickly.
