Slow Stitching Sunday

I love the way this mixed-media mandala turned out.  I used a bejewelled and painted CD for the centre.  The ribbon embroidery has an old-fashioned feel to it.  At first, I wondered if the two very different things would go together.  It is a bit odd but I like it.

I am making good progress on all these woollen mandalas.  I am excited to see them all come together in one project.  I only have five left to finish!

  1. That CD makes this look like a piece from the art deco age or maybe the 50s. Those ribbon flowers just add to the charm. I love it!

  3. The rainbow-coloured shine of the CD adds extra beauty to this mandala. The softness of the ribbon embroidery and the wool felt give a wonderful contrast to the hard and shiny CD disc.
Enjoy working with the remaining five circles.

  4. Fun to use a bedazzled cd in your mandala. Gail at the cozy quilter.
