Slow Stitching Sunday

 

Here is a portion of a scroll I have been working on.  There are some scrumptious silks in this scroll.   I love the jewel tones in it but I haven't found the right inspiration for it.  I started this scroll a year ago and have not made a lot of progress. I have only added minimally to it.  Other projects keep leaping ahead of it with inspiration.  Or projects with a deadline.  A deadline always motivates me!

    I am sure inspiration will come eventually. In the meantime, there is nothing wrong with working on other pieces.

    Can you set yourself a deadline? For me, it would be hard, but it WOULD help me finish the project.

Slow Stitching Sunday

  I am still working away at attaching my circles to this piece.  I have added some other stitching as well.  I am very keen to add some beading to this one but that must wait.  Beading needs to be the last step.  I don't need the frustration of my threads getting snagged on the beads.   Progress can feel oh so slow.  Especially when it is because I am distracted by other projects!  How did it get to be December!  I really meant to fill in the big gaps in my November slice!  I still might.  We will see how it goes.  I got a lot of other stitching done in November so I guess that distracted me from this project.  There is only one slice left to stitch on this project and I find myself jumping ahead to next year. I wonder if I want to do another monthly project like this for next year.  I like having a monthly project.  I might consider doing a mixed-media instead of stitching.  Not that I couldn't incorporate some stitching into that though.  I have no clear idea at this point and that's okay.  I have to get through the holidays!   I am linking to https://kathysquilts.blogspot.com/
