Slow Stitching Sunday



 I finished the scroll a while ago but haven't posted it.  I had so much fun creating this!  It is kind of a jumble.  Maybe it needs something to pull it all together.  Hmm, I am not sure what would do that.  

I kind of like the pieces that go over the edges but maybe not.  They are a bit distracting to me.  That probably isn't enough to pull it all together but it is something.  

There are portions of this that I really love.  There is a lot of yummy texture.

    Lots of little intricate piees on your scroll. Now I'm confused where it ends up? Do you hang it on a wall? Do you wear it like a scarf? I see others do it, but never really followed one like I have followed yours. It has pretty colors.

    I agree that this scroll needs something, but I am at a loss as to what it needs. It looks like it has a sort of floral them. Maybe turn it into a big rose or something.

    The texture and color is always what draws me to your work! So fun to see the photos, but I would love to inspect it up close and in person!

  I am still working away at attaching my circles to this piece.  I have added some other stitching as well.  I am very keen to add some beading to this one but that must wait.  Beading needs to be the last step.  I don't need the frustration of my threads getting snagged on the beads.   Progress can feel oh so slow.  Especially when it is because I am distracted by other projects!  How did it get to be December!  I really meant to fill in the big gaps in my November slice!  I still might.  We will see how it goes.  I got a lot of other stitching done in November so I guess that distracted me from this project.  There is only one slice left to stitch on this project and I find myself jumping ahead to next year. I wonder if I want to do another monthly project like this for next year.  I like having a monthly project.  I might consider doing a mixed-media instead of stitching.  Not that I couldn't incorporate some stitching into that though.  I have no clear idea at this point and that's okay.  I have to get through the holidays!   I am linking to https://kathysquilts.blogspot.com/

Slow Stitching Sunday

 I enjoyed stitching my September slice.  I got out my book by Carole Samples Treasury of Crazy Quilt Stithes.  It has wonderful combinations of stitches.  I have had this book for years and never properly used it.  It uses basic stitches in interesting combinations. So, I didn't really learn any new stitches but I did enjoy combining stitches in new ways.  I might find that more helpful in the long wrong.   The weather has still been cooperative for stitching outside.  The week ahead looks good too.  I might get a jump start on my October slice.  It is sad to think about putting away the deck furniture but it can wait at least a week.
