Slow Stitching Sunday
This piece has so much yummy texture. I am having a lot of fun with it. The pink circle in the lower left is bothering me. There is a bit more of that pink in the piece but that bit is trying to steal the show! I think I need to add a bit more of that colour to keep your eyes moving.
I have used some interesting papers on this piece. Unfortunately, the pale pink piece in the lower right corner has ripped. I will need to remove it. That is the chance you take when using paper. I thought the mulberry paper would have stood up better. Oh well, lesson learned.

Very pretty. The little pink circle doesn't bother me, but I think something is needed above the floral circle to keep the eye moving.
ReplyDeleteYes I agree, my eye went straight to the dark pink. Adding more will work. Looking good though. Sarah quilting by the sea
ReplyDeleteVery pretty and interesting! Mixed media with fabric, thread and paper? I will have to read back a bit to see how this started. I like the how that pink piece contrasts with the background it's on. But you are right, if one thing is standing out to your eye, adding more tones it down greatly!
ReplyDeleteThis is so fun, Angela! I love how you've put the circles here and there with different fabrics and stitches. They are a neat contrast with the rectangles of the background!
ReplyDeleteI agree with the comments above, add a few more circles of the same dark pink, maybe smaller or in the form of buttons or something shiny. It will help the eye travel round.
