Slow Stitching Sunday

 

I have made some improvements on this piece.  I added some stitching that knocks back the pink circle in top right.  I have add more pink stitching.  I have added more fabric circles.  They are just pinned on for right now.  I think I will swap out the pink with turquoise polka dots in the lower right.  It isn't right.

An art day with friends is planned for tomorrow.  I plan to bring this piece and work on it.  Often, we never get to the art part.  We mostly talk and eat.  Eating together is good but I wouldn't mind if we met after lunch so that we could get to the art making.

    Those circles are so fun to look at - each one different! It's funny how one can stand out and you know you have to change it. Have a fun day tomorrow!

  I am still working away at attaching my circles to this piece.  I have added some other stitching as well.  I am very keen to add some beading to this one but that must wait.  Beading needs to be the last step.  I don't need the frustration of my threads getting snagged on the beads.   Progress can feel oh so slow.  Especially when it is because I am distracted by other projects!  How did it get to be December!  I really meant to fill in the big gaps in my November slice!  I still might.  We will see how it goes.  I got a lot of other stitching done in November so I guess that distracted me from this project.  There is only one slice left to stitch on this project and I find myself jumping ahead to next year. I wonder if I want to do another monthly project like this for next year.  I like having a monthly project.  I might consider doing a mixed-media instead of stitching.  Not that I couldn't incorporate some stitching into that though.  I have no clear idea at this point and that's okay.  I have to get through the holidays!   I am linking to https://kathysquilts.blogspot.com/

Slow Stitching Sunday

 I enjoyed stitching my September slice.  I got out my book by Carole Samples Treasury of Crazy Quilt Stithes.  It has wonderful combinations of stitches.  I have had this book for years and never properly used it.  It uses basic stitches in interesting combinations. So, I didn't really learn any new stitches but I did enjoy combining stitches in new ways.  I might find that more helpful in the long wrong.   The weather has still been cooperative for stitching outside.  The week ahead looks good too.  I might get a jump start on my October slice.  It is sad to think about putting away the deck furniture but it can wait at least a week.
