enjoy it or miss home too much?
I did go for a short sleepaway camp. It was our grade 8 graduation treat. It was only a few nights so I did not miss home. Home wasn't exactly wonderful at that time either so a getaway to northern Ontario was good for the soul. It was rustic but at that time in my life I didn't care. NOW I care. No thank you to the rustic!
I love walking in my neighbourhood but especially in the summer. Look at that magnificent flower! It is growing just a block away. It is like a burst of sunshine!
I like that my granddaughter wanted me to come see her grade 2 play yesterday. She was the star of the show! Sure, I am prejudice in her favour but two other adults also commented to me. It was adorable!
I like listening to podcasts. I came across two new ones this week.
Unpublished was one of them. They talk about why it is important to create art. However, they do use some 'language' that can be objectionable. The other one I just listened to is Bewildered by Martha Beck.
I'm not so excited about "rustic" anymore either! That is a beautiful flower - what kind do you think it is? Sounds so fun to go to your granddaughter's play!
ReplyDeleteThat flower is gorgeous! I was listening to Podcasts a lot over the winter but not so much since it's warmed up. I'll go back to them eventually. I never went away to camp so I'm not sure if I would have liked it. Some people did and some hated it!
ReplyDeleteIt is fun to see how our feelings about rustic/comfort/security change with time and age. I would no longer go backpacking and live rustic, but I did (happily) when I was younger.
ReplyDeleteYour neighbourhood 'sun' is fantastic!
