Work in Progress Wednesday
Even though I rarely get to meetings, I am a member of the Grand Guild of Fibre Artists. Each year, there is a challenge put forth. This year, it was decided that we would create a 3D textile piece. I am keen to get started on it!
My piece will be a round sculpture. It doesn't feel right to start it just yet. The house is still in quite a state. The reno is mostly finished, but there are still small things that need to be done. I have done a lot of reorganizing and purging, but haven't made a trip to the thrift store to drop off the boxes. I also have a lot of things I want to sell, but haven't listed them on Marketplace. Then there is Christmas to deal with. There was also a family emergency that threw a wrench in things. Yikes, there is a lot going on!
Some quiet stitching is needed for my soul. I did some rubbings on this fabric with the intention of making a scroll. It was the perfect surface for some slow stitching. I am glad that I had it ready to go!

I'm looking forward to seeing your round sculpture. 3D textile art was often featured at Festival of Quilts in the UK. Here in Japan, it's either wall quilts with some kind of texture or added ornaments, or bags!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with all the work you have to do before Christmas.
