Princess Bubbles Creates

It has been a while since I posted one of my rust photos.  Don't you just love the texture!  Later this week I will be hanging one of my rust photos at city hall for an art show.  Fun! I have spent a lot of time this last couple of months preparing paperwork for a number of different shows.  It is very time consuming.  It is also rewarding once you are accepted but that doesn't always happen.  Anyway, I needed a play day.  I have done tons of experimenting on paper and fabric.  Not always are the experiments successful but they are too good to toss.  So I decided to take them further and see what happens.  I now have a rather large stack of paper and fabric that I feel is useful.  I better get busy creating something with them!

And it has been attached to the crazy quilt project for March.  I included an old rose earring on this piece.  It was my Mom's.  I remember lovingly sorting through her pretty earrings as a child.  It feels good to include it in my art.  I am excited to start on the next bead journal.  The stitching process is very soothing to my soul.

This is the third block in a series of four.  This one is depicting the season of summer.  The bead journal in the center is truly a labor of love.  I spend many hours doing the beading.  I honestly didn't know that I had it in me.  Once I thought it was way too tedious but now I find it rather meditative to stitch on the beads.  I will post a close up of the beading tomorrow. I am longing for the warmth of spring.  I saw my first robin today and the calendar says it is spring but where is the warmth?  Poor little robin must be longing for some warmth too.  This daffodil warms my heart though.  So cheerful! This is a monoprint on watercolor paper.  I am adding French knots to it.  Wow it is going to take a while to fill in the snowflake.  It is a good thing that sometimes I like to do repetitive work that doesn't take a lot of brain power!
