Princess Bubbles Creates

I love leaves.  I have said that numerous times on this blog.  Here I have made a print of leaves from the tree in my backyard.  I have been experimenting with this printmaking process and would like to develop it into an article for a magazine.  Someone who does true nature printing would not be satisfied with the results.  I, however love the soft, impressionistic quality to it.  I think with added stitching it could turn into something spectacular! Not particularly spectacular results.  Maybe not even interesting but the landscape pieces have potential and could be improved upon with stitching.  Considering how much experience with paint I have, you would assume I could have produced something better.  I tried to enjoy the process but in reality I have done these exercises many times and not terribly excited to do them again.  There is still one section left to do of this module of the dyeing workshop.  Possibly I will find time to do it today or tomorrow. Here are my supplies for the fabric dyeing workshop that Kathy Shaw at  http://www.shawkl.com/  is teaching.  Kathy is so very generous with her time and creativity.  I am excited to start getting messy with the dyes and paints!

I have added a bit more stitching and feel like it works.  I have also attached it to a canvas.  I have a fusible backing on the silk to make it easier to stitch.  However, the fusible backing does make it a bit more difficult to wrap onto a canvas.  Still I persisted and think it worked out alright.  I love the hand stitching, I wonder if I should have added more. It has been a busy week.  I know that the more I have to do the more I get done.  I also know that my art and creating is what doesn't get done when I am feeling overwhelmed and too busy.  This week I haven't managed to create much.  I have created a print and picked out some fabric for my June crazy quilt project.  I am not happy that it is almost the end of June and I am just getting started.
