LeeAnna   has asked what fun board games have you've played? Do you have any games you always do when people gather at Christmas time? any funny stories about that? ( I want to get a new one for us this year) My oldest son has a big collection of games.  He used to watch Will Wheaton (from Star Trek TNG) do reviews of games.  He got some really interesting ones because of that.  We don't play games much now that there are grandchildren.  Most of them are not yet old enough to play, so we have to watch them.  Sometimes we play dominoes with our oldest granddaughter.   I like that our reno has inched a little closer to being finished.  I can't say I have enjoyed the process but I will enjoy having a two-piece bathroom on our main floor! I like quiet time to myself.  Boy, am I excited for the contractors to stop coming here! I like having art friends!  I like that we were able to get together yesterday.  It is great when everyone'...

I created this journal so many years ago.  It sat on my to-do shelf forever!  I am pleased to say that I have almost filled it.  Actually, it is filled with mandalas, none of which I feel are good enough to post here.  I enjoyed doing them.  They just aren't all that interesting.  I think I was rushing to get this journal finished.  Now, I realize I could do better.  I am learning more and more to slow down.

Mandala Monday

I have started another mandala journal.  My watercolour mandala journal is almost finished.  This new one is going to be mainly collage mandalas.  At least, that is the plan at the moment.   I love the way this one is looking.  I haven't decided if it is finished or not.  I have noticed that I can become impatient and call something finished too soon.  Obviously, that doesn't stop me from returning to it.

Slow Stitching Sunday

I haven't posted about this blue butterfly for a while.  I have added beads and silk ribbon embroidery.  It is getting closer to being finished.  I just noticed the wing on the left looks a bit off.  I need to correct that.  I did the same thing on my orange butterfly and have fixed that one.  It must have been the pattern I used. I am not sure if I will get much stitching done on it today.  We will be getting our Christmas tree this afternoon.  We used to go to a Christmas tree farm and cut down our tree.  The price for that is now too high.  We will buy our tree from the Scouts, the same troupe my hubby belonged to.   LeeAnna  has asked would you rather go to someone's house for Thanksgiving (even a relative?) or host them in yours? That is a tough question.  There are things I like about each of those scenarios.  There are also things I don't like about each of them.  I will just say undecided on this one. I like that most of the plumbing work is done for our renovation.  Now I can use my washing machine again! I like stuff!  I like lots of stuff!  However, I have way more than I can use.  This reno has me in the mood for clearing out things.  I have been listing things for free on Marketplace.  I love giving things directly to people rather than the thrift store.  It feels really good to help someone. I like that they are predicting a snowstorm for today, and I don't have to go anywhere.  So far, there is only a tiny bit of snow out there.  We will see if the storm actually materializes.

Work in Progress Wednesday

I have my tree scroll stitched together.  This was to be a year-long project, but I have finished it a bit early.  Not a bad thing.  December sure can get busy.  One less thing to do isn't a bad thing. There are tons of things to do around the house, but with the reno still going on, I can't get to them.  I am hoping it won't be much longer.  Even though the contractors are really nice, having them here is not conducive to creativity.  The last couple of days, I have found myself struggling with how to fill my time.  Not something I'm accustomed to!

Mandala Monday

I probably haven't posted about this mandala before.  It started as a print on watercolour paper.  I then began stitching hundreds of French knots into it.  I grew tired of the project and set it aside.  It languished for a long time.  Finally, I decided I wasn't going to finish it.  It was just too tedious.  However, I hate to throw away something that I have put so much work into.  I decided to put it into one of my journals.  It feels like a good place for it to live.
