Take a Stitch Tuesday

Image
Sharon B  shows how to do the Pekinese stitch this week.  It seems rather familiar but I don't think I have done it previously.  I worked it on handmade paper with a perle cotton and a Kreinik metallic.  I worked it rather loosely as is typical of me.  The colors are not typical for me but I still like it.

I wasn't pleasantly gifted with a lovely bouquet of flowers this weekend!  Oh joy!  Another photo opportunity!  The bright colors are so cheerful! Learned something new

I have been working on my bead journal for March.  I am pleased with the way it is coming along.  I went searching for through my stash and came across these grey flower beads.  Grey flowers!!!  Not on anything of mine!  I started pondering how to add color and came across my Smooch Inks.  Then I actually read the instructions to see if the color would be permanent on plastic.  Yep, and on fabric as well.  What a pleasant surprise.  Further exploration down this path will be necessary. Journal Page

Every piece of you is a burst of something beautiful.  That is the quote we were prompted to use this week from the journal challenge at  http://blog.luluart.com.au/2016/03/04/colour-me-positive-week-10/     Great quote!  I am pleased with the journal page I created.  Lots of bling was added to the crown.  This beautiful princess wants to sparkle!

Work in Progress Wednesday

Image
I have been working on wet felting samples for an upcoming workshop.  We will be creating some fun little flowers in one of the workshops.  I can see myself using them on a cover of an altered book but they could also be a pin or attached to a bag or hat. Take a Stitch Tuesday

The Raised Cross Stitch Flower is a pretty simple stitch.  Maybe that is why I completely forgot that I have ever done before this!  If I hadn't left a comment on the post by  Sharon B  I would not have remembered doing it.  I worked it with wool thread on a needle felted wool base that I am using for my bead journal project this month.  I really like this stitch and intend to use again.

I heart Photograph

I went for a lovely hike with my hubby and oldest son yesterday.  I captured this icy waterfall.  I wish I could have got at it from a better angle.  Still not bad for my phone camera.
