Seascape

Image
Oh, I am having fun playing with the colours and textures of this piece.  Seascapes really lend themselves to exploration.  This piece isn't very big so it doesn't have a lot of room to add more.  Still, I am not quite ready to call it finished.   I am linking to http://ninamariesayre.blogspot.com/

Work in Progress Wednesday

This is the cover of my mandala altered book.  It contains 45 mandalas that have been stitched onto pages with a golden thread.  The mandalas are all digital prints and hand coloured.  I am a little surprised that I have done 46, including the one on the cover.  I wonder how many hours I have put into this work.  It doesn't really matter as it is time well spent.

I have made bit of stitching progress on this mandala.  I have to be cognizant of how light weight the silk fabric is.  I suspect it will not tolerate a lot of beading.  Thus I am trying to do more silk ribbon embroidery.  It is truly delightful to stitch silk on silk.  So luscious!  I have had this crazy quilt block hanging around for a while.  I decided it is time to start embellishing the seams.  That is definitely the fun part.  I have started with a few ribbons.  I just looked across my studio and noticed some more lovely ribbons.  I better look through them and see what I can use.  Going through my pretty supplies is such an enjoyable part of the process.  I welcome this distraction.  I can only put up with the madness of this world for so long.  May love and creativity fill the air!

I came upon these beautiful crocus the other day.  So interesting that they are blooming in late summer.  I wonder if they are a different variety than the ones that bloom in early spring. Slow Stitching Sunday

I have been inching closer to finishing my book.  If stitching is slow well writing is even more so for me.  I really want it to be done but it isn't something I can rush.  While photographing my stitch illustrations I noticed that some could be improved.  My rainbow has received more gems and some running stitches.  I think it is better now.   I am linking to https://kathysquilts.blogspot.com/

I have almost finished this mandala altered book.  I have 45 hand-coloured digital prints of mandalas (my own designs) in this book.  I used a golden thread to stitch each of them to a paper base or directly into the book. Now I need to come up with an idea for the cover of the book.
