Princess Bubbles Creates

I have sewn together some of my floofy book pages to create this scroll.  Some of the pages I wasn't super happy with but stitched them together anyway.  I am glad that I did that.  I will now add some embroidery to the joins.  I don't want the seams to be so noticeable.  I want the scroll to read as one unit, not individual pieces.  There must be a better way to say what I mean but hopefully, everyone understands what I mean.   I believe that adding to the seam area will help with the pages that I am not thrilled with.  On the whole, I am happy with the way this is coming along.  I have lots more of these floofy pages.  I really enjoy stitching on these little gems.  I might have enough for three scrolls.  Plus, I add a bunch more scraps after cutting up some of my experimental fabrics.  So many more possibilities for floofy pages!   I like fabric.  Probably a little too much.  I love playing and experimenting with it.  I have a plastic bin full of my experiments.  Some painted pieces, some hand-dyed pieces and all manner of other surface treatments.  I have used some of it over the years but it is out of hand right now.  It is a mess and that is making it hard to find things.   I have gone through some of it and cut it into six-inch squares.  I like hand stitching the best but right now I am enjoying my sewing machine.  Stitching the squares together by machine is so much faster.  The hum of my sewing machine is quite pleasant.   I like my beautiful life.  I am glad to be home from the cottage vacation with my family.  Of course, it was enjoyable.  I cherish my family.   I like the great group of women who participate in this I Like blog post.  Thank you to  LeeAnna  for hosting us all!

 I allowed myself the pleasure of starting another wool mandala even though I don't have the first one finished.  Mostly I am disciplined about finishing things.  But there are times when I have so many ideas and I know they will slip away if I don't act on them.   This mandala doesn't look like much yet.  It seems rather dull to me.  I will have to consider what to add to brighten it up.  I know for sure I have some beautiful threads and beads to add to it.  Going through my stash to find the right things will be a pleasure.

 I created this mandala for my meditation circuit.  I think doing a meditation using this mandala will be wonderful.  Originally I had been thinking each mandala would be painted.  I have changed my mind and want to use a variety of ways to create each mandala.  That will be a better depiction of me as an artist.   Region of Waterloo Arts Fund must be thanked for the grant.  I am grateful for the funding from them and the donors to my Indiegogo campaign.  

  Slow stitching at the cottage was a delight.  My three-year-old grandson enjoyed helping me pick out the right thread colours.  So sweet!  It is good to be home where slow stitching is equally enjoyable.  Vacations are great but I am also incredibly grateful that I have a life that I don't need a vacation from.  I realize that everyone is so blessed. Looking ahead to the rest of the week I may not have as much stitching time.  I will try to make the best of the time that I do have.  My mandala banner project has been fully funded so I will need to concentrate on painting the mandalas now.  Another floofy book page.  I did a fair amount of breading on this one. The little pieces are great to take along while travelling.  I am at a cottage with family this week.  If I had more time I would take the journal page further.  At this point, I will call it finished.  This is truly a junk journal that is filled with so many different kinds of paper.  On the right side is some braille paper my sister shared with me.  On the left side is a calendar page.  I created the dragonfly wings ages ago and they have been waiting for the right project.  They are perfect for the theme of 'come fly with me'  at  Art Journal Journey I do love a good art journal challenge.  Playing in my journals always makes me happy.  Follow the joy and take flight.
