Princess Bubbles Creates

 I created this mandala in Kaleidoscope Kreator and printed it on vellum.  I have used a variety of markers to colour it.  I love to colour my own images, other people's not so much.  I love that it is original to me and I find it so relaxing.   Here is the image uncoloured. Please feel free to print it and colour it as you like.  I'd love to see what you do with it!

 I am working on a crazy quilted stocking for my newest granddaughter.  I have included snippets of fabric from clothing that my Dad, Mom, hubby and myself have worn.  I am a sentimental sort to some degree.  I don't have much more to do and should have it finished in time for Christmas. It was fun to visit my Christmas stash of fabric.  It has been a long time since I have made anything in the Christmas theme.  I may have gone a little overboard with all the fabric I have used!  I have tried to tone it down by only using white or off-white trims and stitching.  I am hoping today I can get this project closer to finished. LeeAnna  has asked If you could eat only one type of cookie this holiday season, which cookie would you be eating a lot of?    What would be the ideal way for you to spend Christmas Eve? I love a good shortbread cookie.  But it needs to be plain, with no added extras!  I am all about the smooth buttery goodness!  Years ago, I had a neighbour who made the yummiest shortbread cookies.  I was glad to get them when we did a cookie exchange.  There is no reason I couldn't make them.  Well, that's not true.  I don't like baking and I don't want to have that many cookies accessible!  I also don't generally eat cookies so my hubby would eat more than he should.  I gotta protect him from himself! My ideal way to spend Christmas Eve is with my family.  I treasure having them all together.  We enjoy having a munchies/grazing-type meal together.  It is relaxed and low-key.  I always have a pair of pjs for the kiddos to ...

 I should have removed the dog hair and lint!  Please ignore that!  This mandala is kind of wonky, wonky doesn't bother me.  Something else is bothering me about this one though and I am not quite sure what it is.  I think it might be that how spikey it feels.  The white beading helped in one way but it also added the spikey issue.  I will ponder how to fix that issue.  Do I take the beads off?  Or add something more?  hmm

 I love the way this mixed-media mandala turned out.  I used a bejewelled and painted CD for the centre.  The ribbon embroidery has an old-fashioned feel to it.  At first, I wondered if the two very different things would go together.  It is a bit odd but I like it. I am making good progress on all these woollen mandalas.  I am excited to see them all come together in one project.  I only have five left to finish!   LeeAnna  asks   Real Christmas Tree or Artificial Christmas Tree? REAL!  All the way!  I love the scent of a pine tree.  It makes Christmas special to have some nature in our home!  I vividly remember when my Mom bought an artificial tree when I was a child.  I was SO disappointed.  They were so ugly back then!  I vowed I would never have one.    I also remember the year my Dad brought me a real tree he cut down at our cottage.  It might have been my first year in an apartment on my own.  It wasn't a big tree but since I didn't have any ornaments that was okay.  I decorated it with balloons!  Amazing they didn't pop. For most of our married life, we have gone to tree farms to cut down our own Christmas tree.  It has been such a lovely tradition.  Unfortunately, the tree farms around here no longer grow Scotch pine so we have resorted to buying our tree from the Boy Scouts.   Our tr...

 I just watched a Dale Rollerson video on YouTube.  She is so very clever.  She used a gossamer fusible web to apply mica powders to the fabric.  The idea was just exactly what I needed for this piece.  I have added mica powders to the sun area of this landscape and I like it.  The rest of the sky still needs work.  Possibly I will add some gold mica powder to it.   The rolling hills seem so flat to me.  I am not sure how to address that problem.  I do wish I had got the background more to my liking before adding the embroidery.  It is a bit tricky to deal with it now.  Oh well, I am always up for a challenge.
