Work in Progress

Image
I am pretty pleased with the way my selfie turned out.  Most members of the guild did one and we will have them on display in May at the St. Jacobs Quilt Festival.  At first I wasn't keen to do make one but now I am glad that I did.  I learned a lot. Ah, the curve of a petal, the texture of the pollen really draw me in.  To just sit and enjoy the simple beauty is like a meditation. I am linking with http://www.shinethedivinecreativityisaspiritualpractice.com/ and http://flowersfromtoday.blogspot.ca/ and http://macromonday2.blogspot.ca/

Crazy quilt block for April finished

Image
This is the fall themed block finished.  I am looking forward to putting all four blocks together.  I have some embroidered quilt blocks inherited from Aunt Pat and I am debating using them for the backing.  It is better than leaving them sitting in a drawer and I am really not sure what else to do with them. Bead Journal for April

Image
This bead journal has a fall theme.  It completes my season themed journals for this year.  As usual it incorporates a vintage earring.  I am excited to start working on my bead journal for May!  It always feels good to complete a project and it is exciting to start a new one.

Work in Progress Wednesday

This is the last block for a piece I plan to call Seasons-A Collaboration.  I have all the seams stitched but still need to add the bead journal to the center.  After I add the bead journal to the center then I can stitch all four blocks together.  I love making progress! Taking a stitch Tuesday

Image
This is a combination of  Cretan Stitch + Lazy Daisy Leaves + Lazy Daisy Flowers in silk ribbon.  A pleasing combination I learned from Valerie at  https://www.facebook.com/groups/335708879954649/?ref=bookmarks   Amazingly, she posts a seam treatment five times a week.  I can't keep up with her!
