Take a Stitch Tuesday

Image
I enjoy having the time to participate in  Sharon B's  take a stitch Tuesday.  I have stitched this week's Buttonhole wheel onto handmade paper.  I have been stitching on handmade paper on and off for the last couple of years.  My intention is to put these pages into a book form.  I had kind of forgotten about this project and now that it is in my remembrance I am eager to get it finished.

Bead Journal

I so enjoyed stitching this piece.  I am calling it Seabed and it is going to be the cover of a journal.  I had not intended it to be my bead journal for March but it took so much time I did not have any extra to work on a different bead journal. I am linking to Slow Stitching Sunday

Crazy Quilt Block

Image
This is my finished crazy quilt block for March.  It is kind of different for me in some ways.  But it is mainly made of fabrics that I have dyed, painted and embellished with transfer foil and needle felting.  It works really well with the other blocks that I have put together.

Six-Inch Square

I was excited to work on the guild challenge for April.  The subject is water.  Water is often represented in my work.  I usually take a mixed media approach to my sinchies.  For this one, I needle felted silk to a wool base.  I also made a mixture of paint, mica flakes and glass beads to create the sand.  I am pretty happy with the way this has turned out but I think it needs some beads. Journal Page

I have made the perfect home for my found poetry collage cards.  I have made quite a stack of those cards and have been puzzling what to do with them.  This collection work just right in this lace heart pocket.  I love it when things come together so nicely!

Work in Progress

I feel like I haven't been very productive this last couple of weeks.  In fact, I have just in a different way.  I have been purging my abundance of supplies.  I took a carload of things to the thrift store and that feels really good.  I have also unearthed some treasures.  I have four blocks sewn together, upper right.  I never finished those blocks and now I am glad that I haven't.  I pulled out some more recent blocks and realize that they look pretty good with those four.  Also, the one that I am working on this month will look good with them.  That means one more block needs to be created to make this into one larger quilt.   I had been puzzling about what to do with the blocks I am creating this year for the crazy quilt block challenge.  Now I know what to do with some of them!  I am linking to https://www.quiltfabrication.com/ http://needleandthreadnetwork.blogspot.com / http://www.esthersquiltblog.com/

Work in Progress Wednesday

My crazy quilt block for March is coming along.  Most of the fabrics are my own surface treated designs.  There is definitely a certain pleasure in using these fabrics.  There was great pleasure in creating them in the first place.  There is still a fair amount of embellishing to do on this block.  I am hoping to get a good chunk of that done today as I have to work.  Aren't I blessed that I get to do some stitching at my job?
