Princess Bubbles Creates

    LeeAnna    asks    do you have a favorite appetizer in your family?  Can you share the recipe? would you rather have buffalo chicken dip or artichoke dip? What do you try first when you go to a party with  snacks? I think the super simple crab dip I make is a favourite in my family.  It is just crabmeat and Helluva Good Dip.  Very tasty.  We also love cream cheese and salsa rolled up in a soft tortilla shell and then cut into bite-size pieces.  I don't love cooking so I try to keep things simple.  I don't want to spend all my time or any time really in the kitchen.   I love party snacks.  All of them.  I wish we could eat that way all the time!  I don't think I can pick a favourite.  

 I have sewn together some interesting fabrics.  Some of them I did some surface design upon.  Some of them are silk, metallic and sparkly.  It was fun to go through my stash and look at all the pretty things.  I have started adding embellishments to this long scroll.  Again, so fun to go through my treasures and find the right things.   Working on the long scroll is a bit different.  Generally, I do a lot of the embellishing before sewing together the individual pieces.  Then I only have the seams to finish.  I am also working with a wide range of colours on this scroll.  It is good to change things up a bit! There is loads of stitching yet to be done.  Still more stash to hunt through.  Such a lovely winter project!

 I love doing mixed-media mandalas.  This one was done with watercolour paints and markers.  I feel free to use whatever media is going to give me the result that I want.  I am not interested in struggling with my art.  I am willing to struggle when needed but mostly it is not needed!

 I am hoping for some good stitching time this afternoon.  I have a fair number of wool mandalas on the go and it is time to finish at least one of them!  This past week has disappeared into a blur and not much stitching happened.  There were snippets of time for it but not the ambition.   I would like to end the year on a beautiful note of quiet stitching.  New Year's parties aren't my style.  I am more suited to quiet times as I imagine most of us slow stitchers are!  So cheers to pretty sparkling threads and soft fabrics.   I am linking to https://kathysquilts.blogspot.com/

Lee Anna  comes up with such great questions.  This week we are discussing Would you rather kiss in Paris or kiss in a tent in the woods on NYE?  would you rather be at a big fancy party where you all scream happy new year at midnight, or at home on your sofa or with a couple friends playing cards etc Unequivically I am all about Paris.  We went there for our 25th anniversary and I loved everything about it.  I would go back in a heartbeat if there weren't so many other places I still want to visit.  My hubby would probably rather have the tent in the woods.  He camps every summer with his brother, brother-in-law and all the sons that can make it.  It is a highlight of his summer.  I am so glad our sons like to go with him because I certainly won't. As for NYE at midnight, most years you will find me in my bed asleep.  I am not a night owl.  We stayed up when we were younger.  That was enough for me.  We do have a lovely t...

 Merry Christmas!  My day will filled with mandala colouring and Christmas movies.  I am completely happy with that.  Giving my children the pleasure of time alone with their own families feels good to me. It is something I always wanted.  I hope that they truly enjoy it. I have been printing some of my own mandala designs and colouring them in.  I started doing this years ago.  It feels more artistic to colour in my own designs.  I am always keen to be creative with my time but sometimes the hardest decision I want to make is choosing a colour.  

 It is so lovely to connect with other stitchers every Sunday.  I look forward to it every week.  Knowing that others find the same pleasure in connecting to thread and working with our hands is delightful.  I am grateful to our wonderful hostess  Kathy  for faithfully hosting every Sunday. I have started another mandala.  This one is done on black wool but in the photo, it looks dark grey.  I love the way black makes bright colours pop.  Bright colours mean joy to me and that is the message I want to send with my art.  May we all have more joy!
