Princess Bubbles Creates

This isn't a great photo.  I can't seem to the colors to show properly.  Nonetheless here is my March crazy quilt block.  All of the fabrics used are silk.  Yum!  I do enjoy working with silk!  Originally I thought I would do all the hand stitching with silk thread.  However I felt the need to use the ribbon and I don't think it is silk.  So then I thought, why limit myself.  I am not fond of limits!  I added my miniature hyperbolic crochet and I am quite pleased with that.  There are a lot of french knots done in a sparkly thread but the camera didn't capture the sparkle. The Beaded Butterfly chain stitch is the stitch Sharon B at  http://pintangle.com/  shares this week.  The top  two photos are the same stitch but not beaded.  I have added these stitches to my crazy quilt from last year. I would dearly love to have my two large crazy quilts completed in time to be in the Quilt Festival this May.  There really isn't that much left to do so if I do a little every week I should be able to meet that goal.

I am still playing with hyperbolic crochet.  This time I experimented with using an embroidery thread and very small crochet hook.  I created these funky little pieces that I plan to add to my crazy quilt block for March.

I could not bare to throw away the bits and pieces of fabric I cut off of my fairy skirt.  I love the colors and the sheer fabrics.  I also couldn't stand the thought of a baggy of fabric scraps sitting around collecting dust.  I should say yet another baggy of scraps!  So I got out some fusbile fleece and adhered all the fabric to it.  Now I have an interesting piece to stitch into.  That may sit around collecting dust for a while but at least if someone came across it, it would like something.

My crazy quilt project for February took a bit longer to get finished.  Here is my winter fairy dress.  Hmm, now I am thinking that maybe I should make some wings for this.  I will think about that.  I don't have time to do it now. Here is my bead journal project for March.  I have incorporated two different beaded embroidery stitches thus far.  I would really like to add at least one more.  I am working on a needle felted background and I don't want to cover it entirely with beads.  However I do want to add a bit more stitching and beads.

I am really enjoying having my crochet hooks out again.  It has been many years since I have used them and I am thankful that my hands still remember how to crochet!  I have been experimenting with some different hyperbolic shapes and I quite like them.  I also have been adding some chain stitched frills to the edges.  I think it works quite well.  I am getting closer to having my whole coral reef ready!
