Work in Progress Wednesday

Image
This something a bit different for me.  I started by adhering doilies to a canvas and then painting the whole thing.  I machine quilted it and then got stuck.  It sat for quite a while before I knew where to go with it.  I have added the circles and some hand embroidery.  I want to add more embroidery and then it should be finished. I heart Macro

Oh how I do love macro!  I saved for quite a while to get my macro lens but boy was it worth it!  I use that lens more than any other.  I was pleased to capture this dandelion with one last seed on it.  I know many think of dandelions as weeds but I like their bright yellow.  And who doesn't like blowing all the seeds off while making a wish!  And remembering the beautiful bouquets my sons would bring home for me! Bead journal progress

Image
I have added some beads!  I am loving the way this piece is going!  I am a bit stuck at the moment.  Not quite sure what my next step is.  I know I want to add more beads for sure.  It has been a really busy week so I just haven't had the time or energy to figure it out. Work in Progress Wednesday

This is truly a work in progress.  This is the start of my crazy quilt block for May.  I am going for more of a collage feel with it.  I have a few issues with it at this point but feel I can deal with them as I start embellishing. I am linking with http://needleandthreadnetwork.blogspot.ca/

Taking a stitch Tuesday

Image
Here I tried the seam treatment taught by Valerie on the Facebook group Joyful Embellishments.  It is the chevron stitch with lazy daisy.   I have not been very good at combining stitches so this is teaching me a lot.  I am always glad to learn new things!

I am not a big fan of bees but this is a pretty cool shot!  You can see the pollen on its feet.  Do bees have feet?  Whatever. I am linking with http://www.shinethedivinecreativityisaspiritualpractice.com/ and http://macromonday2.blogspot.ca/ and http://flowersfromtoday.blogspot.ca/
