Journal Week #4

Image
See the light in others and treat them as if that is all that you see.  What a great idea!  I definitely try to do this but find it difficult to do with some people.  I printed this quote on top of a couple of layers.  The first layer was a gelli print.  The second layer was a print from a stencil.  I had used the stencil and there was still lots of juicy paint on it I stamped it onto the gelli print.

Work in Progress Wednesday

My January CQ block is finished.  I am hoping that it looks good with the three other blocks that I will be doing next.  I definitely had fun with this one! Take a Stitch Tuesday and 1 Stitch a day

Sharon B  shows us the Fancy Herringbone Stitch this week.  I have not tried this stitch previously and gave it a go, top photo.  However I stopped one step short of actually completing the stitch.  I have a  couple of reasons for that.  First, I like way it looks as is.  Second, the third step is to loop thread through the crosses and I find looping difficult to get right.  Not only that but even if I do get the looping even/correct it can move around after I am finished. The second photo is my January take a stitch a day project.  The goal was to do 31 different flowers.  Not all of the flowers are different but I did learn some new things and I am pleased with this piece.  I had fun doing it.

A Play Day

Image
This past Monday I had some friends over to play.  I love my art play dates with my friends!  These ladies are not fibre people but one of them had bought some wool roving and wanted to know how to use it.  I deviced a very simple idea and we created some little masterpieces!  We had so much fun, creating and chatting.  I think I will call my piece  finished and put it in an altered book. Journal week #3

When I first read this quote it struck me as rather negative.  I guess it was the words often and painful that bothered me.  For me not all endings are painful.  Of course, some endings are painful but not that often, at least for me.  I can almost always find the bright side, embrace the change and move on.

Work in Progress Wednesday

My bead journal for January is finished.  I think I was drawn to the image of the candle because I hope I am always a source of light and joy.  It was interesting to stitch on leather as I have never tried that.  It was not as pleasant as stitching on wool or silk.
