Princess Bubbles Creates

Sharon B  shows us the Buttonholed Cable Chain stitch this week.  I love it and hope that I can remember to use it more often.  I wish that I would have chosen two more contrasting threads for this.  It works well on this crazy quilt block though.

I honestly don't know why I save the ends of threads.  It almost seems crazy.  I know I am not the only one that does it though so there is some comfort in that.  I felt the need to experiment with them and created a sheet of 'fabric' with them.  Interesting result but now what.  Last week I was thinking about a stalled project and decided to try creating a leaf with this new 'fabric'.  I love it. It is lacey and colourful, textural and sparkly.  I think I have to make some more of these leaves for that project.

I have been wanting to start a new series ever since I did my water sinchie for the guild challenge.  Water is already a prominent theme in my artwork but I feel the need to explore it even further.  I am planning to keep it to the six inch square size and have cut up a bunch of fabric experiments to be the base.  Some I have sewn together and plan to do more that way.  I am linking to http://ninamariesayre.blogspot.com/

Sorry, no words on this journal page.  It is busy enough.  The base for the page is a hand embroidered quilt block that I inherited.  I love these quilt blocks that have been so lovingly stitched.  I have quite a few of them and I am trying to figure out ways to use them.  I can't see myself ever stitching them all together into a large quilt.  Smaller projects make more sense to me.

This is the start of my crazy quilt block for April.  It is mainly fabrics that I have created.  It will work perfectly in the quilt that I posted about last week.  Still lots of stitching to do but that is the fun part! I enjoy having the time to participate in  Sharon B's  take a stitch Tuesday.  I have stitched this week's Buttonhole wheel onto handmade paper.  I have been stitching on handmade paper on and off for the last couple of years.  My intention is to put these pages into a book form.  I had kind of forgotten about this project and now that it is in my remembrance I am eager to get it finished.
